
- The most famous and successful Portuguese ceramist Rafael Augusto Bordalo Pinheiro (1846-1905) was born in Lisbon into a family of distinguished artists. He was one of nine children many of whom continued the family artistic tradition. The home of Manuel Gustavo(his father, a painter) has been preserved as a museum, where visitors can gaze upon the original works and molds of Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro.
- Antonian museum
The Museu Antonio displays exhibitions dedicated to the Saint born in Lisbon, and based on paintings, carvings, sculptures, ceramics and religious objects.
- Music Museum
Museu da música is situated in the subway station Alto dos Moinhos and has a collection of musical instruments as well as the documents on music of the western world from the 16th to the 20th century. There are often concerts taking place there.
- National Ethnology Museum
Museu Nacional de Etnologia gathers 30,000 ethnographical artifacts from Portuguese-speaking communities to South America, all around the world. Emphasize is given to Macau, Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau. There are generally very interesting exhibitions.

- Carris Museum
The history of public transports in Lisbon. The museum consists of two main areas, one shows the historical evolution of the company through documents and small objects and the other, located at the old workshop, presents an exhibition dedicated to electric trams, buses and other machines.
A tram from the beginning of the 20th century makes the connection between the two areas.

The Museum of Science, along with the Natural History Museum both depend on the University of Lisbon. They are settled in a building with a long and old history devoted to Culture and Education in Portugal. In fact, this building was constructed after a former one burned in a huge fire. Since the dawn of the XVIIth century several institutions have occupied the area, all of them entirely dedicated to Science and Culture. Next to the Natural History Museum you will find a very rich botanical garden with a large variety of plants, which also has a zoological, mineral and geographic collection.
- Fronteira Palace
The 17th century Palace of the Marquises of Fronteira in Lisbon contains one of the most important collections of Portuguese azulejos from this period. Alongside mythological and battle themes, we find satirical scenes known literally as "monkey business", full of irony and a sense of nonsense.

- Praça de Toiros
The institution of bullfighting is a great Portuguese tradition. Built in the 19th century, this building is inspired by the old arena in Madrid. Constructed in a Roman style, it is probably the most expressive neo-arab building to be built in the late 19th century. The Praça de Toiros do Campo Pequeno hosts the year's Bullfighting Season; most of them take place between the months of March and October.
For the most energetic visitors we will quote still the Arpad-Szenes Vieira da Silva Museum which exhibits the life and work of both artists; the da Estrela Basilica, a baroque building from the end of the 18th century, with a lot of beautiful marble as well as the Queen Founder's grave (D.Maria I); the Waxwork Museum with a display of 180 Portuguese and foreign models through the history of Portugal; the Vasco da Gama Aquarium situated at the exit of Lisbon, was inaugurated in 1898 and still is very popular, there are reservoirs of marine plants, fish and shellfish as well as a sea lions pool and a tortoise pool; the Gulbenkian Planetarium telling the history of our planet and our solar system in a room with an oval ceiling.
As a conclusion to your day we suggest a visit to the Zoo, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Europe with namely a dolphinarium, and a cable railway giving a general view of the Zoo. Or a walk in Feira Popular, the large and very popular attraction park where you will also find numerous restaurants for all tastes.
Finally Estufa Fria, the most beautiful garden in the Eduardo VII park, on Avenida da Liberdade, with flowers and plants from lots of different continents.
