ECONOMY :

Portugal exports 75% of its cattle production. In the North of the Douro (where you will find the famous Porto wine), viniculture dominates the agricultural activities and about 15 million litres are produced per year.

Along with the tourist industry the construction and steel industries have increased making them a precious source of foreign currency.

Portugal is also the biggest producer of cork oak in Europe. The olive oil production and fishing industry are also well developed.

So far Portugal is enjoying a healthy economic growth.
